Blue Ribbon Studio, Nike HQ. The "Designing for Houselessness" workshop, delivered by Shelter-Lab in October 2022 to Nike's innovation team, aimed to help Portland's unhoused population by leveraging Nike's design expertise.
The workshop focused on designing products that can aid people who are experiencing homelessness and equip them to get off the streets and into a home. The design principles emphasized compassion, understanding the needs of the homeless population, and making products that are rugged, ready to perform, and humane. The workshop also highlighted the importance of upcycling materials and creating business models to support the production and distribution of these products.
