Set against the backdrop of the American West, Tony shares her exploration of identity and belonging. For some, wandering is an expression of freedom, for others, a pivot away from responsibility. No matter how you look at it, it's impossible to understand the road without paying attention to those who call it home. The solo exhibition 'The Living Road,' presented in the context of the 2023 Burgemeester de Bruin Prize of the municipality of Rheden, challenges conventions regarding societal inclusion criteria and prompts viewers to contemplate their own concept of home.
